FRANK is an offbeat comedy about a wannabe musician who finds himself out of his depth when he joins a maverick rock band led by the enigmatic Frank - a musical genius who hides himself inside a large fake head.
FRANK stars Dohmnall Gleeson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Scoot McNairy and Michael Fassbender and is directed by Lenny Abrahamson (Adam & Paul, Garage, What Richard Did). Written by Jon Ronson (The Men Who Stare At Goats) and Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Men Who Stare At Goats), FRANK is a fictional story based on the memoir by Jon Ronson and loosely inspired by Frank Sidebottom (the persona of cult musician and comedy legend Chris Sievey), as well as outsider musicians like Daniel Johnston, Captain Beefheart and Harry Partch.

Want to be with Frank? Here's all you need to create your own papier mâché head. You will need: An inflatable gym ball Cling film For the papier mache: glue, water, newspaper Cardboard Paint Scissors Masking tape Craft knife A marker pen Step 1: Inflate the gym ball and cover with cling film. Step 2: Starting at the bung, draw a line around the centre of the ball. Step 3: Mix the glue and water together to make a paste, and use it to apply newspaper strips over the cling film. You'll need about four layers. Leave to dry overnight. Step 4: Cut the cling film and any paper along the centre line then deflate the ball and remove it. Step 5: To make Frank's head oval shape, re-inflate the ball, and cling film all the way round the centre. Step 6: Attach the two sides again with tape and papier mâché over the gap. Make sure to leave a space for you head to go in. Once dried, remove the ball. Step 7: Draw and cut the face shapes from cardboard. You need eyes, eyebrows, nose and mouth. If you cut the nose and ears over a seam in the cardboard, it's easier to bend later. Step 8: Stick the face shapes on the head with tape, and cover with papier mâché. Step 9: Fill the cardboard ears with newspaper and papier maché over then cut slits in the side of the head to attach Step 10: Construct the hair from newspaper, and papier mâché over. Step 11: Paint on the skin and hair. Step 12: To create the eyes, first cut a stencil from paper. Draw round the stencil to give yourself a guide, and then cut through the head to create eye-holes. Step 13: Finally, paint on the facial features. You're done! Now go start a band. www.Frank-Film.com

Read up on Frank sidebottom, he's the guy this is about. It's a very British thing if you aren't from here you probably won't get it in its full extent. He was an absolute treasure, there's a statue in Timperley dedicated to him, he also had a show in the 80s called Frank's fantastic shedshow. He was so brilliant man.

She is undefined but also a specific awesome you can never let go. If she sees this then I know she is the right girl for me. I will never do you wrong. I will never let you down. I love everyone and care about everyone and that includes me caring for you. You are a at first sight girl for me. You are powerful and I never want to let you go. This is also a great movie we should watch together.

First of all sorry if my English is not so good, im trying to do my best, I just watched this movie yesterday and I loved your explanations, I want to share mine with you all with the hope that someone else gives me his point of view and may we all can understand together all the points that this movie touches I think is also important to remember some psychological Facts. It seems like Frank Growed up in a abusive relationship with their parents, Jon seemed to discovered this after walking to Frank´s home the same scene from his home when the movie started gets repeated, the child on bicycle and his mother yelling him to be careful, the neighbor washing his car and saying hello, he started to see that at some point is like his own home. Now, our parents define our limits and unfortunately a child more sensitive and creative as Frank can be more harmed than a normal child, when the parents said to Jon that "he had a happy childhood" or something like that and he replies like doubting "yes, like my home" he seemed to understand that not at the same level his parents destroyed Frank´s creativity as not supporting him or may feeling ashamed from him as he may showed sings of autism since childhood. Jon seemed to understand the whole band for Frank is like a Family, and decides to help them to get back together and accepts that some bands are just happy by sharing music and don't need the pressure of being famous, this bands acts more like a family formed with different mental disorders and the role of the mother is filled by Clara, she is sometimes the mother abusive and castrating that doesn't care for anyone else than herself and gives to the other the abuse they need to feel loved, she has a strong character because she also loves Frank as she feel that hurting him more will not be good for him as for the others, she sees on him the same wounds that she has as a mirror and thats why she loved every member of the band at his own manner because she is giving to every member what they need. I really loved this movie, it has very deep message and I will see it again soon to find new interpretations I may lost. thanks for reading, I hope you all understand and the message I want to share don't get lost on translation, Greetings from México Adios Amigos !!!!
