This is part of the reason why many people are afraid to fly. The news media makes this into a big deal but hundreds are killed on the roads every week.

United Airlines has gotten bad press for incidents that weren't even perpetrated by United Airlines (UAL) but were caused by their less than stellar United Airlines Express partners (actually different companies, not owned or even partly owned) such as the doctor who was injured (by a rent a cop, not airline staff, and not United, actually Republic Airlines.)
While this incident is UAL, no one was hurt and accidents happen in aviation every day. UAL has over 4,500 departures per day and is one of the safest airlines in the world.

Hey everyone. This was a terrible thing that happened day before yesterday and my three cousins and aunts were on this plane. My cousin is paralyzed from the waist down and it is worst case scenario that he was on this floor flight. Have a great day

The crew was probably busy beating up another passenger to notice the plane was skidding off the runway.

Maintenance crew needs to stop smoking weed, eating shrooms, and get back to inspecting tires.

Maybe it landed on a different runway, and I know it still would need assistance but it looks pretty on the runway to me, seems like 2 fire trucks and a swarm of vans is a bit overkill so any pilots out there maybe explain or idk.

1) closing the airport is standard procedure whenever there is an INCIDENT.
2) this was not an accident, it was an INCIDENT. As per definition from the NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board, A.K.A the people who actually do the investigation) : An accident is defined as an occurrence associated with the operation of an aircraft that takes place between the time any person boards the aircraft with the intention of flight and all such persons have disembarked, and in which any person suffers death or serious injury, or in which the aircraft receives substantial damage. An incident is an occurrence other than an accident that affects or could affect the safety of operations.

Just gets to me when fear mongering for profit and misinformation takes precedent over facts.
