You had an eating disorder. It wasn't the vegan diet/lifestyle. You fucked up. I'm so mad because I had so much faith in you even when you promoted the less than healthy side of it. You became so obsessed with an image that YOU damaged yourself.

I LOVE this video. 💕💕 I was vegetarian for three-years, and then I went vegan for ethical reasons.
Within MONTHS I began to feel lethargic and ill. My immune system had dropped, and when I got my blood tested at ten-months vegan, I was deficient in everything. My doctor recommended I go back to vegetarianism, but I refused for a while. After about a year-and-a-half, I decided to go back, and OMG the difference it made. I cannot even express how much better I felt.
Then, a year after that, I decided to eat fish and poultry, and it blew my mind how much better the fish and chicken made me feel. It’s been two years, and I’m so much happier and healthier than ever. I still refuse to eat beef and pork due to the environment, but the fact that I still reduce the carbon foot print by 80% not eating beef is astounding.
And I feel incredible!! 💕🎉

Hi! I have a vegan story myself. I am a chef and nutritionist and I believe you should be able to get all your nutrition from food with no added supplements. I have always been in good health and have had a mostly plant based diet. Cutting out animal products was easy because i know how to cook and i followed veganism by the book. I ate all the right things with no animal products and i lost weight uncontrollably. I don't believe veganism is sustainable and once i learned you have to take all sorts of supplements like B12, iodine, iron, zinc, omega 3s, and calcium veganism was a complete turn off. The problem is people eat too much meat in our culture. The important thing is too keep everything in balance and eat whole unprocessed foods. You are awesome hunnie! keep up the good work

Jesus you guys are so mean and judgemental.

As someone who has had a brother who suffered from Gillian-Barre syndrome and became emaciated and close to death from his illness, I strongly believe ANYONE has the right to do whatever changes necessary for their own body including diet changes from vegan to non to ensure a healthy life for themselves.
You absolutely cannot tell someone they were not suffering. You don't get to decide that. And if eating fucking fish and eggs allows someone to have the properly functioning life that you yourself may be able to carry out with a vegan diet then why should they debilitate themselves and have a lower quality of life for a diet that their body wasn't or now isnt't meant for? Why do you get to feel great when she feels like shit? All of our bodies are different.
Also to the people saying she's gonna go back to vegan in two days, so fucking what? Isn't that what you guys want anyways and are annoyed with her about?? Make up your minds. If she decides to change her diet a million and one times that is completely fine. She should do what is best for her and her health and she was brave to tell her mostly vegan community a change as drastic as this and is definitely getting more hate than any other youtuber that I've seen come out as not vegan get.
Sorry this is such a late comment but I feel like this needed to be said.

THIS! I think veganism can be a healthy choice for a lot of people, but it doesn't work for everybody. I went on a high carb low fat vegan diet, and due to a health condition I didn't know I had at the time, this diet completely screwed up my body and I'm still suffering to this day. I was following a vegan diet for 3 months before I had to stop because apparently my body just doesn't jive with that diet very well. It screwed up my digestive system and caused a lot of issues. I am not discouraging anyone from doing a vegan diet, I'm just saying that it doesn't work fro everyone. In fact, NO DIET is going to work for everybody. Some people can't absorb certain nutrients correctly, others have allergic reactions to certain foods, others are intolerant with certain foods and some peoples bodies don't react well with certain foods. Some people have health conditions to where they simply can't follow a certain diet because their bodies require a very specialized food plan. I don't know why this is so hard for some people to understand!

Best decision ever,
Alice Is not my real name
It's not veganism that didn't work for you, it was unhealthy dangerous eating habits - which on any diet will not work out. Stop putting veganism in a negative light because you need to work through some issues.

I stopped watching regularly when she quit the Appalachian Trail.
She preaches mindfulness and one with nature: can't make it much more then a month on the trail.
Preaches minimalism: buys a giant house.
Buys a designer.

Indians like us has been practicing vegetarianism for ages and no one has ever got affected with these kind of issues. Instead of completely going vegan, you may try vegetarianism ( cooked food, definitely not raw vegan). Vegetarianism includes eating veggies, grains, pulses, dairy products, oils etc. Vegetarians don’t eat eggs, meat products etc.

i dont follow you, this is acctually the first video ive seen of yours in years! but here is my take away on what was said in this video.

you were having these symptoms bc of mold and your enviroment, you left that place and became better over time, you went back to that enviroment and your symptoms came back. but your thought was your diet was doing this to you. im just confused by this lol

im not vegan, never will be, meat is life its delisious lol. and if you dont want to be vegan thats your choice. i wont judge you for it. i just dont understand how a mold problem could be the reason why you cant be vegan anymore.
i dont know what your view is on supplements but you can get DHA and fish oil supplements to take to help with your brain fog. just a thought.
but if veganism just isint the right path for you than so be it! im just saying there are other options to help with your health issues.

Wow. You vegans act so self-righteously and superior like you are better than everyone else. You just can't respect or accept that someone does not want to be Vegan anymore. I'm so glad that I am no longer vegan although I was never like that. It's a personal choice. That's always the answer when someone stops being vegan--that they weren't doing it right. I stopped being it is way too depriving. It's not a complete diet; a person needs animal protein to thrive. Stop acting like you are better than everyone else. I feel like Veganism is a cult. You people are ridiculous. It's a personal choice. Stop coming down on people when their views aren't the same as your.

With all respect, it just sounds like you were protein deficient (among other things). I'm not even vegan so I'm not saying this to say you shouldn't have quit veganism but a balanced vegan diet with enough protein and essential amino acids is possible. Unfortunately fad vegan diets that most vegan youtubers seem to promote that are high carb, low fat, low protein just aren't it.

I've been watching you for awhile but only just before your health issues started. I've known 4 people who have gone vegan and ended up wth thyroid issues (hypothyroidism mostly). I'm not a vegan but once was a vegetarian. I also have struggled with massive health issues (digestive, hormonal, and mostly neurological). A lot of them were diet related. You might also see about food sensitivity tests. I do not eat gluten (am celiac) or dairy (lifetime of dairy issues) but still deal with some issues. For you to still put out content while feeling that way and doing all the retreats is amazing because I could barely get off the couch. And then the depression came because I wanted to do things but physically could not. You really are amazing! It's hard to speak out because the vegan community can be so viciously hateful to those who aren't vegan or have experienced health issues being vegan. I'm seeing a trend that people start feeling bad about 4 years into a vegan diet. It's, unfortunately, seeming to not be sustainable for long periods of time. But I've been verbally attacked by people I thought were friends and various people online who didn't think anyone should eat animals. It's sad, really. A community that says they care for animals but attack people. Makes me sad because I make mindful choices on where to buy animal products and how they were treated. And I see that your channel was not about attacking others but instead encouraging. And I'm not saying all vegans are like that (vicious or hateful or attacking) but I've experienced many. And then I've seen the many videos publicly attacking those who aren't vegan. I think a reset needs to happen. I've always enjoyed your channel because you never seemed to be that way. I'm sorry that there's backlash coming at you. Stay strong - your channel is amazing!

First red flag is at 5:24 Lol she referred to herself as “human-like....” Also what does “raw alignment” mean now? Because it’s still all over your channel page and if you’re going to do the “it’s raw like gritty and real” card, remember this whole video has the theme of “my feelings feel feel-y and here’s my OPINION why.” And truly, I was on board with you living your life regardless of what people think UNTIL you said that brain damage bs. As someone who watched their mother lose her identity to symptoms of brain cancer (brain damage,) your entitlement to that concept of wounded-ness needs checked. Hard.
Furthermore, check your control freak, hypochondriac pursuit of “health.” You were fasting. You starved yourself of nutrition and wondered why you got sick. As everyone has pointed out, you made yourself sick. You made other people sick too, myself included. So I believe you when you said you felt bad; trying to do what you did made me feel bad too, but how DARE you play victim to the point of comparing your disordered eating and nutrition deficiencies to brain damage. Unsubscribed.
P.s. if you have to keep asking yourself “What’s wrong with me??” It’s probably not a physical or dietary issue.
